When a loved one is discharged from UH Parma Medical Center at Powers Boulevard and Ridge Road, we're often the next call — arranging personal care or homemaking so recovery at home starts on solid footing.
Personal Care covers the daily routines that keep someone safe and independent: bathing, showering, and grooming; dressing assistance; mobility assistance and safe transfers; toileting and continence support; and medication reminders.
Homemaking keeps the household running: light housekeeping and laundry; meal preparation, including the home-style Eastern European dishes many of our Parma clients grew up eating; errands and grocery runs; transportation to appointments, church services, and outings like the Donna Smallwood Senior Center on West Ridgewood Drive; and companionship — conversation, card games, or a walk on the West Creek Reservation trails. We know the community. Many of our clients belong to multigenerational families — adult children nearby, grandchildren visiting on weekends. We work with the whole family, so everyone knows the schedule and the plan.
Consistent caregivers. We assign a regular caregiver and keep the schedule predictable, so clients see a familiar face who learns how they take their coffee and how they like their home kept.
Help after hospital discharge. If your loved one is coming home from UH Parma Medical Center, we can set up personal care and homemaking quickly — help with bathing, meals, and getting to follow-up appointments while they regain their footing.
